About Wendy
Who I am...
I am Halton’s “hometown girl” having lived in Ward 3 all my 58 years. I live on Norton Crescent in Georgetown in the same house where I grew up. I was raised with five brothers, so I know how to make my case, how to lead and how to compromise when it makes sense.
I am married to lifelong Georgetown resident, Mike Reed… 34 years and counting (feels like 4, Mike, but it’s been 34 – blissful years)! We have raised two sons, Cory and Glenn, who work in town. Our daughter-in-law teaches at George Kennedy. My two grandchildren attend Harrison Public, the third Farrow generation to do so.

“I’ve known Wendy for 44 years. Wendy is a great listener with career experience in avoiding and handling conflict, which is useful in political life."
Lois Fraser, lifelong resident, business owner

“Wendy has been on the Board of Bennett Village for two years and her insights into and knowledge of Halton Hills has proved to be an invaluable asset. She was also instrumental in the process to hire our new Executive Director.”

… as a Businesswoman
Wendy graduated from Sheridan College’s Human Resource Management Program and then obtained her CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation.
She spent 18 years in private industry, rising from Office Manager to Operations Manager, to International HR Manager for a manufacturing and engineering firm.
For 6 years, from 2011-2017, Wendy was Manager of the Downtown Georgetown BIA, which reports to Town Council. She understood the role of Council and worked effectively with Town Staff because she knows how to get things done! She left the BIA to pursue her long- held ambition to run for Town Council. Wendy still volunteers the BIA as her passion for the Downtown is ever strong.
Wendy devoted 12 years as a member of the Board and committees of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, gaining a keen awareness of the importance of sustaining businesses in our Region. Wendy still faithfully participates in many Chamber events in support of local businesses.
Even while sitting on Council Wendy has kept up her HR designations and currently holds two HR consulting positions, for 2 local business – a manufacturing company on Armstrong Ave. and a retail store in Acton.
I want to know what YOU think!

“Wendy is a true gem. I have enjoyed working with her on organizations such as The Lions Club of Georgetown. Wendy approaches local issues with diligence, enthusiasm and integrity.”
Louie Viola, Loins Club Santa Clause Chair... so I also know she's on Santa's good list.
